Congratulations to Jean Drummond, Morna Kippen, Babs Falconer and Hilda Douglas on winning the Sidlaw Ladies League Champion of Champions Rinks Trophy beating Newtyle 18-10.  This is the first time since 2004 that Blairgowrie has won the trophy.
   

Congratulations to Liz Reid and Judy Duncan on winning the Sidlaw Ladies League Champion of Champions Pairs Trophy beating Burrelton.

   
Congratulations to Jock McLaren, Ronnie MacKenzie and Sandy Robinson on winning the Strathmore Seniors League Champion of Champions Triples Trophy beating Kirriemuir.

Blair in Bloom - Blairgowrie Bowling Club have been awarded the Certificate of Merit 2011 for Best Business Premises by Blair in Bloom for the second year running. Special thanks to Bill and Babs Falconer for all their hard work in making this possible.

Charity cheques of £400 each were presented by President Tom Bennet to Margaret Jackson (Princess Royal Trust Carer Centre) and lady President Margaret Dickson to Chris Humble (Riding for the Disabled) and by Secretary Steve Saunders to Angling for Youth Development. The money was raised from our 'Charity Day' held on 25th July.

Charity Day - 25th July: A very successful day was held with over £1,000 raised from events such as tombola, bottle stall, raffles, cake and candy etc.  Special thanks to the rinks from Forfar, Burrelton, Alyth and Rattray for supporting the event on what was a glorious day both playing and weather wise.  The winners of the ‘Charity Day Shield’ were Forfar Bowling Club – Brenda Dear, Kevin Dear, Ian Craig and Norma Craig (skip).

The event was sponsored by local businesses Ian Reid Joinery and MicroBlair Computer Services.

Saturday 15th May: Race night was a great success with around £300 raised. Many thanks to all those who made the effort to support the night and to all those who made it such a success. A special thank you to 'Famous Grouse' for their contributions - click here for more information on the 'Famous Grouse'.
 
 

Saturday 17th April the green was officially opened by President Tom Bennet with Ladies President Margaret Dickson bowling the 'silver jack' for what is hoped will be a very promising and successful season for the club.
 

This years 'Wii day' on Sunday 7th February was another resounding success. There were 16 teams of 4 competing for the covet annual trophy as well as many spectators encouraging their friends and relatives.

Congratulations to Bill Beedie. Bill has been picked as one of 10 umpires from Scotland to officiate at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in Oct 2011. There are 3 umpires from district 5 Bill, Catherine Kinnear (Rattray) and Eddie Nicholson (Bridge of Earn). It is a great honour for them and a great achievement for our district. Well done to them all !!
